Easy Ways for Internet Marketers to Give Better Customer Service

Many people look into internet marketing because, for the most part, it is a mostly automated business model. The thinking is that all you need to do is set up a website where you offer items or services for sale, use marketing methods like links to get people there, and then watch as those people buy your products and services without you having to lift a finger.

It seems, on the surface, like it doesn’t take very much work at all. This could be the reason a lot of these internet marketers are doing a less than acceptable job at customer service. Whether you’re operating an online or a traditional, brick-and-mortar business, customer service is going to be critical to your success. Follow these simple customer service tips and see your clients and customers returning time and again to purchase from you.

Whenever someone buys from you, make sure that you have a physical mail address for them and then send them a handwritten thank you note stating your appreciation for their business. This is going to work better for you if you don’t have a very large business yet. When your business is small, these personal touches go a long way!

When you send a handwritten thank you note to your customers you are endearing yourself to them and offering them encouragement to buy from you if they need your service again. And really, a quick little note should only take you a couple of minutes to write. This could ensure future sales that can add up to hundreds of dollars. This is effective in any market from the common ‘lose weight’ niches all the way to specific technology niches like antivirus and selling a UK Proxy

Ask your customers for feedback on your service, and use it. If it physically fits into your time constraints, responding personally to all emails that you are sent, including negative ones, will add another personal touch. Even though the feedback is negative sometimes, you should look at it as constructive criticism and try to change things for the better. Be sure to send back responses that duly thank the customer for taking some of their valuable time and commenting on your service, and then you can address the specific points that they mentioned in their email; doing this will be a great step towards ingratiating yourself with your customers. Your clients will always be more likely to keep giving you business if they think you value them as individuals and not a just a means to boosting your bottom line.

It is a good idea to offer freebies to your customers periodically. This doesn’t mean to send out a newsletter every once in a while, it’s more than that. If your business has your composing articles, give out free articles to your customers based on what they have requested from you before. Alternatively, if your business involves selling affiliate products on the internet, you could try and contract with the company you operate with and see if they will send some free items to people on your list. They will appreciate the free things and will be more likely to buy from you again in the future!

It only makes sense to offer great customer service. Check with other internet marketers to see what kind of customer service they offer. Internet marketers who offer their customers good service will certainly make more money than those who ignore this facet of business. Your business depends on the customers you have, who are real, live people. Don’t think of them as money pots. If you treat these customers as friends and not as money, they will come back to you over and over again.
